Ostrava
Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic, lies at the northern end of the Moravian Gate, on the border of Cieszyn Silesia, Opava Silesia and Moravia. It is an important transport and economic centre, with a well-developed energy, machinery and chemical industry. The city is home to more than 284 thousand people. Ostrava offers plenty of attractions, such as historic buildings and museums. Average temperatures range from -1°C in winter to 25°C in summer. The best time to visit is spring or summer, when the weather favours sightseeing.
